Philadelphia Phoenix Fund

The Philadelphia Phoenix Fund Award provides support to Community College of Philadelphia students pursuing an A.A.S. degree (associate in applied science) who have either participated in the Future Forward program or are participants in the Reentry program. The primary purpose of the scholarship is to award funds to cover transportation and meals at the College. Recipients will receive meal vouchers in fall and spring ($400/year), as well as SEPTA Key Cards for the months of September, October, November, December, February, March and April. Total value is $1,072 per year (excluding summer sessions). Additionally, recipients whose PELL does not cover tuition for summer sessions (optional) may receive tuition assistance. Students will be nominated by staff from the Reentry program. No application is required.

Eligibility Criteria:

Student must be nominated by a staff member of the Rentry program. Student must be PELL eligible Student must be English 101- ready or have successfully completed English 101; Student must be pursuing an associate’s degree; Student must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester; Student must have earned a minimum of nine credits at the College and possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 for continued eligibility. Students must earn their associate’s degree within four years. Preferred recipients should be involved in community service project(s).
