Dr. Suleyman Ozturk Memorial Award

The Community College of Philadelphia Foundation is pleased to announce the Dr. Suleyman Ozturk Memorial Award. Dr. Ozturk taught at Community College of Philadelphia for 45 years after emigrating to the U.S. from Turkey in 1965. Although an environmental engineer by training, he taught Mathematics and Foundational Mathematics. This award, named in his honor, will recognize one student with a monetary award presented at the College’s Academic Awards Ceremony in May. Interested students must be enrolled in a Science and Technology program at the College, have successfully completed any 100-level Foundational Math course with a “C” or better, possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and be graduating in May. Recipient may be full-time or part-time. Faculty in the Math Department will select the recipient.
