Ruth Holmes Bacon Minority Student Fellowship

Established in 2004, the Award honors the late Ruth Bacon, an instructor in the Early Childhood Education program at Community College of Philadelphia. This scholarship is designed to increase the involvement of students of Asian and Hispanic origins in the Early Childhood Education program. The Ruth Holmes Bacon Minority Student Fellowship provides up to $2,000 toward tuition to two current students at the College pursuing an associate degree in Early Education (birth through 4th). Scholarship funds will be applied directly to the recipient’s Community College of Philadelphia tuition account in fall and spring. Students of Asian and Hispanic descent strongly encouraged to apply. Applications are reviewed through March 30.
