Ruth Holmes Bacon Award of Excellence (Education-Early Childhood birth-4th Grade)

Established in 1989, the Ruth Holmes Bacon Award of Excellence honors the memory of Ruth Bacon, an instructor in the College’s Education (birth through 4th grade) program. Her creativity in the classroom, her warm and perceptive style and her commitment to mothers returning to school inspired the Education advisory committee and faculty to establish an award in her name. The Ruth Holmes Bacon Award of Excellence provides $2,000 toward tuition, to a graduate of the program who demonstrates professional promise. Scholarship funds are sent directly to the baccalaureate-degree granting institution to which the recipient is transferring. Applications for the Ruth Holmes Bacon Award of Excellence will be reviewed through March 30.
