The Michael Anthony Goodman Scholarship for Work-Study Students

This scholarship, sponsored by a member of the Library faculty, honors the memory of Michael Anthony Goodman, a work-study student in the College’s Library and Learning Commons. His positive attitude and contagious smile brightened the day for faculty, staff, and students who visited the Library. He was a gentle soul, always ready with a helping hand and a kind word. His generosity knew no bounds, and his compassion touched the lives of all who knew him. Tragically, his life was cut short by a senseless act of violence, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. We hope to keep his memory alive because he asked for so little while he gave so much. The Michael Anthony Goodman Scholarship will provide a $500 award to one student employed as a work-study student at the College who demonstrates kindness and compassion to others. The scholarship funds will be applied directly to the recipients’ spring tuition account.

To be eligible, students must:
• Be currently employed as a work-study student at Community College of Philadelphia
• Have worked a minimum of 30 hours as a work-study student in the previous fall semester
• Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
