Ed Hermance Scholarship

Philly AIDS Thrift@Giovanni’s Room, a Philadelphia non-profit business that supports local organizations involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS, is pleased to offer the Ed Hermance Scholarship. Mr. Hermance is the long-time proprietor of Giovanni’s Book Room, the oldest LGBTQ and Feminist Bookstore in the country. The FUND will provide financial assistance to incoming students and current students who are in good academic standing and who are registered for full-time or part-time study. Students must complete the online scholarship application. LGBTQ and under-represented minorities are especially encouraged to apply.

To be considered, students must answer the following question:

What actions can you take or have you taken to advocate for the dignity and quality of life for vulnerable communities? (People of Color, LGBTQ+ Community, People Living with HIV/AIDS)
